The congress will take place mainly at the Leioa Campus of the University of the Basque Country, where the Facultad de Ciencia y Tecnología (ZTF-FCT) [College of Science and Technology] of the University of the Basque Country will host the majority of the program and the Escuela de Hosteleria de Leioa [Leioa Catering School] will provide the meals of the congress. However, some congress activities, such as social programs and open-to-the-public science popularization events, will occur outside the Leioa Campus. We will give more details about the location of these activities throughout 2024.
For arriving at the campus, we will offer a bus service (of which we give the information at the end of this page) with the objective of not saturating public transit and facilitating the attendance of the participants. For arriving on your own to the campus, consult the page about public transit in Bilbao.
In the Leioa campus map below, we can see the Facultad de Ciencia y Tecnología (ZTF-FCT) [College of Science and Technology] of the University of the Basque Country colored in cyan, the Escuela de Hosteleria de Leioa [Leioa Catering School] colored in magenta and the parking spaces for the general public in yellow—with a black ‘P’ over them. One can easily walk between all these points and the campus is adapted for those people with reduced mobility.
Pushing the buttons below, you can download the two Leioa campus maps: the simplified one shown on this page (in high resolution) and the detailed official map with all the legends.
Located in a central position inside the Leioa campus, the Facultad de Ciencia y Tecnología (ZTF-FCT) [College of Science and Technology] of the University of the Basque Country will be the primary hosting place of the congress.
Note: Although the official translation of “Facultad de Ciencia y Tecnología” is “Faculty of Science and Technology”, we use the translation “College of Science and Technology” since this is better to refer to the university building/institution. The words “facultad” and “faculty” are false friends—the Spanish word usually refers to a university building/institution, while the English word refers exclusively to the body of academicians in that building/institution.
The paraninfo [auditorium] of the ZTF-FCT, with a capacity of 275 people, is the main room for events at the college. Here, plenary talks and round tables will take place.
The Grand Salle of the ZTF-FCT is an ample space with a capacity of 300 people. In this space, both coffee breaks and poster sessions will take place.
The ZTF-FCT has 56 rooms for teaching. All of these rooms count with a computer, a projector and a blackboard. The parallel sessions will take place in these rooms. Once the program is defined, we will publish the rooms for the parallel sessions and other activities.
The map of the ZTF-FCT will be available once the rooms where the congress will take place are specified.
The Escuela de Hosteleria de Leioa [Leioa Catering School] will provide the meals of the congress in its dining hall. We will provide more details about the meals and its serving throughout 2024.
For not saturating public transit and facilitating attendance to participants, we will provide a bus service between the city of Bilbao and the Leioa campus of the University of the Basque Country. However, those who want to go on their own to the campus can use public transit. For finding information about the possible option, check the page about the public transit in Bilbao.
We will add the information relative to the bus service later when there are a few moths left for the conference.
